Forbes calculated which actresses got the best return on the filmmakers' investment for their recent work. Some of the highest paid stars like Angelina Jolie didn't make the list, but many who were in the mid-range of salary did. There was a virtual tie for the number 7 spot, but the first two actresses--Naomi Watts and Jennifer Connelly--were impressively out front. Here's their top ten list, along how well they did at generating revenues:

7. Halle Berry ($23 for each $1 paid)

8. Cate Blanchett ($23 for each $1 paid)

9. Anne Hathaway ($23 for each $1 paid)

10. Hilary Swank ($23 for each $1 paid)
