Top Ten Summer Albums to Check Out

There are about three dozen big albums coming out this summer from acts ranging from Black Eyed Peas to Cobra Starship.  Here are ten albums for you to keep an ear out for in the coming months, five for grown ups and five for kids:

Five Albums for Adults

1.  Dave Matthews Band (Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King) - the man himself declares this their best album yet; the title is a tribute to LeRoi Moore, the band saxophone player who died unexpectedly in an accident during the production of this album.  (June 2)

2.  Chickenfoot - the next Supergroup featuring Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith, and Sammy Hagar.  (June 9)

3.  Rob Thomas (Cradlesong) - his second solo album (June 30)

4.  Daughtry (Leave This Town) - the second album from this fourth place American Idol finisher may not sell more than 4 million copies like the debut album, but I think it will do just fine. (July 14)

5.  Imogen Heap  (Ellipse) - the supremely talented Grammy nominee's third solo album. (Aug. 4)

Five Albums for Kids

1.  Jonas Brothers (Lines, Vines, and Trying Times) - it may sell a copy or two. (6/16)

2.  Ashley Tisdale (Guilty Pleasure) - the second solo effort from the HSM star. (6/16)

3.  Demi Lovato - the second album for the rising Disney star. (7/21)

4.  Jordin Sparks (Battlefield) - the second album from the American Idol champ of two years ago. (July 21)

5.  Colbie Caillat (Breakthrough) - her second album, as well.  Sense a theme here?

You can also expect albums from Flaming Lips, Collective Soul, Third Eye Blind, 311, and Maxwell, among others.
