No one takes the MTV movie awards seriously as recognition of great art, but they are a big deal in the entertainment industry. It's one of the moments where A list actors, musicians, and athletes get to hang out with each other. The awards range include Best Kiss and Best Fight, as well as the standard Best Movie and various acting categories.
This year's host, Andy Samberg, may prove to be the best choice they have ever made for host No one knows how to use short-form video and film for comedic effect better than Samberg. If he can keep his goofball charm in front of the unruly crowd and if he has a few great comedy videos ready to roll, he is likely to be among the long-running show's greatest hits.
